Toby Conroy – Physiotherapist, the Director of the Canberra Physio Clinic, brings over 10 years’ experience as a senior physiotherapist and educator. Specialising in prevention, treatment and recovery of musculoskeletal issues and injuries, injury rehabilitation, skill development and lower limb injuries.
Toby works with various clients with a range of injuries and goals including elite level athletes, children and young people. His commitment to providing wholistic functional care ensures his clients can return to their optimal fitness, sport and health commitments in a safe and educated approach.
Toby’s own experiences as a semi-professional Australian rules footballer in the VFL, NEAFL and locally with the Queanbeyan Tigers, means he understands the challenges faced by many young athletes and the importance of balancing injury prevention, management and return to sport. He works with a range of Canberra and national sporting teams in local, national and international competitions, and is the Head of Physical Preparation for Basketball Australia National Junior teams. He has also been the team physio for many junior national teams including:
- U15 Crocs at Oceania Championships which won a gold medal in 2018
- U19 Emus team that compete at world cup in Latvia in 2021
- Was appointed to U19 Emus for 2023 cycle however this team was unable to travel
- U18 Gems team that won gold at Asian Cup in 2022
- U16 Crocs team that won gold at Asian Cup 2023
- U17 Crocs Team travelling to the world cup in 2024
Toby is passionate about continued professional development and continually grows his own skills to provide contemporary and innovative practices.
Prior to gaining his physiotherapy qualifications through the University of Canberra, Toby was a schoolteacher in Melbourne, teaching primary and secondary school physical education and health.
